As Salmon-Safe gears up for further expansion on the farm landscape across the interior Columbia Basin and beyond, we’ve hired Brian Muegge (pronounced MEG-e) as our first certification specialist. A wildlife biologist by trade, Brian has worked for the US Forest Service as well as in the biotech and craft beverage industries. Brian assists Salmon-Safe in agricultural outreach throughout the Pacific Northwest, in conjunction with bolstering market-connections for certified growers with a particular focus on Salmon-Safe malts and hops. Brian is passionate about enacting sustainable land practices in order to protect natural resources and brings a cross-functional focus to Salmon-Safe’s mission. Brian will work in tandem with our Portland-based headquarters, Walla Walla and eastern Idaho outreach team, and implementation partners across the region.
