Expansion across priority watersheds and important new water quality protection initiatives
Salmon-Safe works through a West Coast network of place-based projects, including our priority watersheds of the interior Columbia Basin, Puget Sound and the Fraser Basin of British Columbia. We’re also excited to be piloting Trout-Safe certification, an Inland Northwest extension of Salmon-Safe, in eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. And Salmon-Safe Green Bridges is our latest initiative focusing on new bridge design and retrofitting of existing bridges to protect waterways from polluted runoff, with a particular focus on toxic tire dust contaminant 6PPD-Q.
