We’re thrilled to announce that Seattle-based Urban Visions is the second developer anywhere to achieve Salmon-Safe accreditation. As a Salmon-Safe developer, Urban Visions will apply Salmon-Safe principles for site design, development, and operation across all of its projects and properties.
In addition to this new portfolio-wide Salmon-Safe commitment, Urban Visions is the leading Pacific Northwest developer of individual Salmon-Safe projects since 2020 including The Jack, the newest addition to the Seattle waterfront and currently under construction with completion in mid-2023. Other certified projects include S, one of Seattle’s largest scale projects currently under development, and The Net.
At The Jack and across the Urban Visions development portfolio, Salmon-Safe design elements include extensive green roof, native and drought tolerant plantings, and innovative green stormwater infrastructure to filter runoff and protect downstream water quality.
For Urban Visions, Salmon-Safe developer accreditation was inspired by the company’s participation in our Puget Sound Pledge. “Urban Visions is committed to sustainable development principles that protect Puget Sound and promote healthy salmon habitat,” said Greg Smith, the company’s Founder & CEO.
