Salmon-Safe is entering a new phase in scaling up our Puget Sound presence as we seek to accelerate the development market’s shift to practices that protect Puget Sound water quality and migrating salmon. We’re pleased to announce that Molly Ray, formerly national sustainability manager for Office Depot, has joined the staff as Puget Sound Director and Elissa Fink, former Chief Marketing Officer of Tableau Software, has joined our board of directors.

As we look to transform development impacting Puget Sound towards Salmon-Safe practices, Molly and Elissa bring extraordinary experience in building an organization and brand in the marketplace. Molly’s experience in leading corporate sustainability initiatives at a national level and Elissa’s experience in driving results with data is precisely the kind of approach that’s going to be essential in engaging developers in recovering Puget Sound water quality and imperiled salmon.

Molly directed and managed sustainability programs and initiatives for large corporations as well as within the hospitality industry. Recently retired as CMO of Tableau, Elissa led marketing strategy and execution for 11 years, from pre-IPO startup to a public enterprise with $1+ billion in revenue. She is the first Seattle-based board member for Salmon-Safe and will help guide our further Puget Sound expansion.

Salmon-Safe Puget Sound is longtime collaborative effort with Stewardship Partners, leading program implementation with more than 100 farms on Puget Sound’s agricultural tributaries, and Site Story, leading Seattle Green Bridges and strategic outreach initiatives. Our Puget Sound expansion, in part with funding newly announced from the National Estuary Program, will triple our Puget Sound footprint of development projects certified for water quality and habitat protection over the next five years.
