Brewmasters in some of the Nation’s most recognized craft breweries have developed beers showcasing Salmon-Safe hops and malts.
Leading Northwest and national brewers are sourcing Salmon-Safe hops and malts and that is building new momentum for ecologically sustainable and climate resilient farming practices in Northwest wild salmon watersheds like Yakima, the Snake River, and the Willamette Valley. With more than 90 percent of US hops sourced from these watersheds, choosing Salmon-Safe beer makes a direct contribution to restoring important waterways and native fish. Expanding the market for Salmon-Safe Malt
With respect to malt, Salmon-Safe is partnering with Walla Walla, Washington, based Mainstem Malt to help transition a growing number of environmentally innovative grain growers in the interior Columbia Basin to certified barley malt. We’ve also joined with LINC Malt, Coldstream Malt, and Gold Rush Malt to further transition Northwest grain growers to certified malt.
